Windscreen Chip Repair

Damage to the glass is normally caused by a stone or other loose debris hitting the screen whilst the car is being driven.

Impact damage is commonly known as a bullseye, a circular indent or a star break, small cracks radiating out from the impact point.

IMPORTANT. A windscreen chip can turn into a crack, which means the expense of a new screen, at ANY TIME. This can be particularly unnerving if you are driving at the time. Anything can cause a chip to crack, things such as shock (speed bumps or uneven surfaces ) weather conditions, frosty mornings or putting the air con on hot days. Dirt and moisture being left in the chip will all contribute.

Windscreen chips can also affect your line of vision and the last thing you need is to be distracted whilst driving.

And also a damaged windscreen is a potential MOT failure. MOT legislation states that the screen be repaired or replaced if it is damaged.

A maximum of three repairs can be made to the screen and each repair must be 100mm apart.

Despite what other firms may say, screen repairs are seldom invisible. The aim is to restore the integral strength of the screen ensuring that is it does not crack and to pass an MOT examination. However, saying that, it is often difficult to see the repair unless you are specifically looking for it.

Windscreen chip repairs cost only £25 and take roughly 40 minutes to complete. If your screen is chipped contact us now.
